Art Teacher
Scott Black has been an Artist and Art Educator in Muscogee County for twenty-four years. He received his Bachelors from Columbus State University and his Masters from Troy State. His first ten years of teaching were at local elementary schools with the primary home school being Waddell Elementary. For the most recent fourteen years, Scott has taught at Hardaway High School. There, he has instructed various Art classes as well as the International Baccalaureate Art course and Theory of Knowledge. The IB Program has expanded his understanding of how to approach education in a more holistic way. It has been his goal to use the Art classroom as a means of transforming the way we approach thinking and our understanding of who we are as individuals. His students have gone on to show this in so many different and amazing ways. Scott’s artistic ally, Katie Black, is an artist and art teacher and his son Sam Black prefers numbers much more.
